Much of what we learn serves an immediate purpose, but God’s Word has eternal value. That’s why it is vital that we seek his Spirit daily through prayer and Bible study. Connect the Testaments is designed to help you in your daily pursuit of God by illuminating Scripture through daily devotions.
Connect the Testaments is a 365-day devotional with a custom reading plan that covers the entire Bible over one year, explaining difficult and complex passages along the way. Each day you’ll read from the Old Testament, the New Testament, and poetic literature. Daily devotionals offer insight into the text and explanations for difficult passages, revealing how the Scripture passages are connected—as well as what those connections teach us about living for Jesus. Thought-provoking questions help you reflect on how you can apply each passage to everyday life.

“We often associate waiting with inaction, but waiting is faith in action.” (source)
“Jesus emphasizes that the pursuit of Him isn’t lethargic, or merely emotional, and it isn’t cerebral. It involves pursuing Him with all of our being—in a posture of humility, with an ear that hears and a life that is changed. It involves complete surrender to His will.” (source)
“Discernment allows us to know God’s will and perceive the decisions He would have us make. Knowledge helps us to understand God Himself, primarily His character.” (source)
“When we use Scripture for our own gains or battles, we are acting like Christ’s tempter—not Christ. We might think that we are defending the gospel, but if it’s not about Christ’s virgin birth, suffering, death, resurrection, or continued presence in our lives, it’s really not about the fundamental truths. It’s about our battle—about what we want. Instead, let’s act more like Christ. Let’s use Scripture in the proper context, balancing it with other Scripture.” (source)
“Success achieved through force may look like strength, but it’s actually weakness. The distinction of great leaders is their ability to rise alongside those they lead, not over them.” (source)
