Associate Marketing Specialist

Position Summary

The Lexham Press team is looking for a new Associate Marketing Strategist who will work closely with our Associate Publisher of Marketing and Sales to develop creative marketing, promotional, and publicity strategies, and implement and coordinate those efforts. This is a full-time position, with flexible hours and competitive benefits, located on-site in beautiful Bellingham, WA. Compensation will be commensurate with skills and experience.

Primary responsibilities

  • Generate demand for our titles through publicity, influencer reviews, promotional campaigns
  • Promote new titles through a variety of digital marketing channels as well as directly via email, Skype, phone, and conference venues
  • Become an expert in the published titles, upcoming projects, and audiences of Lexham Press and Kirkdale Press (our trade imprint)
  • Work with Lexham and Faithlife colleagues to ensure products are being promoted and sold effectively within Faithlife’s direct channels
  • Work with the Lexham marketing team to coordinate internal and external advertising
  • Coordinate with external partners to ensure products are promoted properly and unique sales opportunities are identified and acted upon
  • Write, edit, and schedule promotional emails and blog posts
  • Gather and analyze data relating to product sales and promotions
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement creative and effective marketing, promotional, and publicity strategies
  • Understanding of the roles and needs of academic and trade evangelical audiences, including pastors and other church leaders, biblical scholars, seminary students, and laypersons
  • Broad knowledge of established and up-and-coming authors, genres, and topics in Christian publishing
  • Familiarity with the Bible and the fields of biblical studies, theology, church history, and pastoral ministry
  • Demonstrated skill in clear and lively verbal and written communication, with an eye for detail
  • Ability to give and receive feedback, support, and constructive criticism within a tightly knit team environment
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, sales, or customer service with marketing focus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and Google Docs and Sheets

Ideal Knowledge and Skills

  • Existing connections and contacts in the Christian publishing industry
  • Work experience in the publishing industry or the Christian market
  • Experience in social media marketing
  • A degree in English, marketing, Bible, religion, or another relevant field
  • Facility with the Chicago Manual of Style
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
